It is very important to keep in mind that in the Bible some expressions of texts from “The Book of Enoch” are quoted of referenced, specifically in the Epistle of Jude, verses 6, 14-16; also in Second Peter 2:4. This book is canonical for the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, and although the Book of Enoch is not part of the commonly accepted Bible Canon, it is a text that provides us with a lot of information that was in the Jewish mind and culture of ancient time, in relation to various biblical events, especially what it happened before the flood in Noah’s time. Considering the number of references in the New Testament to the Book of Enoch, we have to conclude that both Jews and Christians at the time of the Lord Jesus were already aware of this book, and held it in high esteem.
