This car spring compressor tool works with the engine removed or still installed and the cylinder head on or off to allow you to save time under the hood. It will work with all 2V Ford overhead cam engines with direct contact to the valve stem and additionally works for only exhaust valves on 4V engines (intake valves require a 4V tool that pushes this tool to the side of the spring).
For 4V, drive out the roll pin pivot and replace with a cut off bolt (not included) so you can place the shoe on the valve spring then put the lever on and slip the bolt in. NOT intended for Triton 5.4 3V or any other 3V/4V engine.
