Seven Hills Chili is one of many secret family recipes passed down from our late Grandmother, Alice. Seven Hills Chili Original blend is a special blend of seasonings and spices that result in a savory, Cincinnati style chili. Almost a century ago, our Grandma developed a recipe for Chili inspired by Cincinnati’s original Chili Parlor. The founders of that chili parlor added a unique blend of Mediterranean spices that provide that famous and unique Cincinnati Chili flavor. Today, all current Cincinnati chili parlors use a version of that original recipe. Over the years, Grandma tweaked her recipe – all the way to perfection.
Although she never dreamed of opening her own parlor, she served her Cincinnati style chili to her family and friends until her death in 1976. Although all of the current parlors in Cincinnati have excellent chili, we think you will agree, Seven Hills Chili – our grandma’s secret recipe – is superior to them all. Now the best news. After a lot of research and effort, we found a way to process Grandma’s recipe into a spice mix that makes cooking this savory chili a breeze. All you have to do is add 7 tablespoons of our Seven Hills Chili seasoning, ground chuck and tomato juice, bring to a boil and then simmer to desired thickness.
Traditional ways to serve Cincinnati chili: ' "2 Way" - Spaghetti noodles topped with Seven Hills Chili. ' "3 Way" - 2 Way topped with finely grated cheddar cheese. ' "4 Way" - 3 Way with either diced onions or beans. ' "5 Way" - 3 Way with onions and beans.
