About this item

Graphene is an allotropic form of carbon which has a single layer of carbon atoms arranged in a two-dimensional honeycomb lattice. Each carbon atom in a graphene sheet is connected to three other atoms by a sigma bond. It exhibits unusual electronic properties and is considered a semimetal. While the two dimensional structure is termed as graphene, the three dimensional structure is referred to as graphite. It is a good conductor of heat and absorbs light of all visible wavelengths. It can be produced through various techniques such as fullerene splitting, nanotube slicing, epitaxy, sodium ethoxide pyrolysis, etc.
