How to use: The rivet assembly is inserted into the hole drilled in the part to be connected, and a specially designed tool is used to pull the mandrel into the rivet. This enlarges the blind end of the rivet and then breaks the mandrel. These types of blind rivets have non-locking mandrels and are sometimes avoided at critical structural connections, because the mandrels may fall due to vibration or other reasons, leaving hollow rivets with a lower load carrying capacity than solid rivets. Blind rivets are mainly used where the joint can be accessed from only one side. Note: Manual measurement allows small reasonable errors.
