CorninWare was established over half a century ago. It was first introduced in the United Sates in 1958. The discovery was made in 1953, by S. Donald Stookey who accidentally discovered Pyroceram, a white glass-ceramic while working with photosensitive glass. The material is able to withstand sudden temperature change of up to 840 degree Fahrenheit. Because of its heat-resistant property, Pyroceram has been used widely for different functions such as fireplaces, wood burning stoves, oven, broilers, and was even used in the ballistic missile program for nose cones. The Pyroceram material is far superior than most other types of ceramic.
